Report of a kite surfer in difficulties off Knap Point.  The casualty swam to shore, and was unhurt.  Barry Dock lifeboat recovered the kite, while Barry Coastguard obtained details. 

Report of an Aircraft, with a fire on board, inbound to Cardiff Wales Airport.  Barry Coastguard were placed on standby along with Barry Dock Lifeboat.  The plane, with 36 people on board landed safely.

Barry Coastguard were tasked to obtain details of two persons cut off by the tide at Lavernock point area.  Penarth Lifeboat No.2 recovered both casualties and returned them to the lifeboat slipway.

Details obtained of a 35ft boat being towed into Barry Harbour by Barry Dock Lifeboat. 

Report from a member of public of a body board, half a mile off Fontygary Bay.  Barry Coastguard and Barry Dock Lifeboat were tasked, locating the board and finding that appeared to be old.  The area was checked, but nothing further found.  

A 999 call was received from a person stating that he was cut off by the tide at Bulls Cliff (between Porthkerry and Knap beaches).  Barry Coastguard made contact with the casualty and gave reassurance.  Knap rescue recovered the casualty to the beach.

Request from Fire Control to assist in the medivac of a person who had fallen down the cliff at St Marys Well Bay.  Barry and Penarth Coastguard teams were tasked, and supplied lighting and extra man power to carry the casualty to an awaiting ambulance.

Report of a swimmer in difficulties at Friars Point.  Barry Coastguard, Barry Dock Lifeboat and Rescue Helicopter 169 (Chivenor) were tasked.  A search was made from Whitmore Bay to Porthkerry Caravan Park.  Nothing found.

Report of a person fallen down the cliff at Friars Point.  Barry Coastguard were tasked to investigate, finding the casualty walking along a path to Barry Island main car park.  He was treated by a Paramedic for a head injury and minor cuts, before being taken to hospital by ambulance.  Coastguard, paramedics, fire service and police attended scene.

Report from the Police of persons in the water at Barry No.1 Dock.  Barry Coastguard were tasked to assist.  An orange rubber dinghy was found, and 3 young children ran away when approached.

One person cut off by the tide at Bendricks Rock.  Barry Coastguard and Barry Dock Lifeboat were tasked.  Casualty picked up by Barry Dock Yankee lifeboat and dropped back ashore.

Report from a member of public of a person in the water at Barry Old Harbour.  Barry Coastguard were tasked to search the area. No persons in difficulty found. 

Details obtained of a 12ft rib which had broken down and was being towed back to Hayes Slipway.

Atlantic College Lifeboat towed a Jet Ski from Sully Island back to Hayes Slipway.  Barry Coastguard obtained details and gave advice.

Report via 999 of a person in difficulties, in the water at Nells Point, Barry Island.  A search of the area was conducted by Barry Coastguard, Atlantic College Lifeboat and Barry Dock Lifeboat, and the casualty was found off Knap Point.  The person was taken back to Barry Harbour by lifeboat. 

Report of people playing on a wrecked boat in the Old Harbour.  Barry Coastguard were tasked from the previous call (41), but nothing found.

Report of a boy on Bendricks Beach with a broken ankle.  Barry Coastguard, Ambulance and Fire Service attended.  The 11 year old boy, who had been jumping into the sea from the rocks was treated by paramedics for a broken ankle and taken off the beach on stretcher by Coastguard and Fire teams.

Report of two persons on a small rubber boat drifting past the end of Friars Point, Barry Island.  Barry Coastguard and Barry Dock Lifeboat were tasked.  The casualties made it ashore, cold and wet, with the help of a member of the public.  No medical assistance was required.

Report of a yellow/red flare fired in the Knap Point area.  Barry Coastguard were tasked to check the area.  One of the first informants was located and flashing lights were checked out, which were the East Culver Buoy.  False Alarm with good intent.

Report of an orange dinghy floating off Nells Point, Barry Island.  Barry Coastguard were tasked, locating the dinghy with no persons on board.  A Pilot Boat from Barry picked up the dinghy. 

During Incident 36 below, we received a report of a woman with a broken ankle at Friars Point.  Barry Coastguard were tasked to attend.  The casualty was airlifted by Rescue Helicopter 169 to Morriston Hospital. 

Report of a 16 year old boy stuck up the cliff at Knap Beach.  Barry Coastguard, Fire Rescue, Ambulance and Rescue Helicopter 169 attended.  Barry Coastguard lowered a cliff team to locate and stabilise the casualty.  Rescue Helicopter 169 winched the boy on board and placed him on top of the cliff to be checked out by paramedics. 

Report of two young males in a small boat rowing past Friars Point, Barry Island.  Barry Coastguard and Barry Dock Lifeboat were tasked, finding the inflatable boat being towed back to shore by a yacht.  Details were obtained.

Missing windsurfer at Knap Beach.  He was located on the beach safe and well. 

Report via 999 calls of two persons in difficulty at Whitmore Bay, Barry Island.  Barry Coastguard were tasked, but on arrival, both persons were out of the water safe and well.

Report of a 16ft speedboat sinking at Sully Slipway.  Sully sailing club recovered the boat to the beach, with the assistance of Barry Coastguard. 

Report of a small boat on the rocks and two persons in the water at Jacksons Bay Breakwater.  Barry Dock Lifeboat recovered the vessel.  No medical attention required.

Report of a dog caught up in fishing nets, on the beach, at Bendricks rock area.  Barry Coastguard were tasked, finding that the dog was dead, and had been washed away by the tide.  A search of the area was carried out, but nothing found.  The net was disposed of at the local council refuse site.  Police also attended the scene.

Report of three persons in difficulties, in rubber dinghy off Nells Point.  Barry Coastguard were tasked to investigate, finding that they had made it safely ashore, onto the rocks.  Details taken and advice given.

Barry Coastguard tasked to assist the ambulance service in evacuating a casualty, with a broken leg, from the beach at Fontygary, Rhoose. Rescue Helicopter 169 airlifted the casualty to hospital.

Report of a man overboard, last known position off Breaksea Lightfloat. Barry Coastguard were tasked to search from Summerhouse Point to Lavernock Point, along with 8 lifeboats, 2 rescue helicopters and a Nimrod Aircraft. The casualty was not found.

Barry Coastguard were tasked to assist Penarth Coastguard in a search, by carrying out a visual check of Lavernock Point for a small boat in difficulties. Nothing was found.

Report of a small boat in difficulty at the entrance to Barry Old Harbour.  Barry Coastguard were tasked, finding that the vessel was not in any difficulty, and was waiting for the tide to allow it to enter the harbour.  Barry Dock Lifeboat were also tasked.

Report of person stuck in the mud at Barry Old Harbour.  Barry Coastguard were tasked, but the person was out of the mud on arrival.  Police and Fire Service also attended.

Report of a person jumping from a cliff near Jacksons Bay. The casualty was found, having entered the water at Friars Point and was detained by the police. Barry Coastguard obtained details of the casualty.

Two persons cut off by the tide at Sully Island.  Barry Coastguard were tasked to assist, and Penarth Lifeboat brought the casualties safely to shore.  One casualty then slipped on the rocks and fractured her collar bone.  An ambulance was called to take the casualty to hospital.

While on Local Patrol, report from Swansea Coastguard of a person up to their neck in the water at Sully Island, attempting to cross the causeway.  On arriving on scene, with Penarth Coastguard, Barry Coastguard found the casualty (unhurt) sitting on the beach.  He had attempted to wade across from the Island (even though the tide was in), but realised it was too deep.  He eventually swam across, watched by many concerned members of the public on the shore.  Penarth Lifeboat and the ambulance service also attended, with the casualty being taken to hospital by the ambulance for further checks.

Due to an outage at Swansea Coastguard, Barry Coastguard manned the Remote Radio Site at St. Hillary.

Report of 3 inebriated youths in a dinghy, drifting off Nells Point, Barry Island.  Barry Coastguard were tasked and provided safety advice to the youths who had made it safely ashore.  Barry Dock Lifeboat also attended the call.   

Report of a three year old child missing for approx. 1 hour at Whitmore Bay, Barry Island.  Barry Coastguard were tasked, but stood down as child was found safe and well.

Report of a red flare sighted in the Knap Area. Barry Coastguard were tasked to search from Whitmore Bay to the Knap, but found nothing unusual. On interviewing members of the public, we concluded that the flare was fired inland.

Report from the Police of a six year old child, lost at Whitmore Bay, Barry Island.  Barry Coastguard were tasked to assist, but the child had already been found safe and well as we arrived on scene.

Report of a dog over the cliff at Rhoose Point. Barry Coastguard were tasked to ensure the owner did not attempt to retrieve the dog. On arrival the team quickly found the dog safe and well on the beach.
